Operation LBD Bitsy
FOSTER-TO-ADOPT FOUND AND PENDING!!

UPDATE: 2/23/2025 – A FOSTER-TO-ADOPT FAMILY HAS BEEN FOUND, THANK YOU!
OLBD Bitsy is one of our newest intakes to OLBD. Sadly this girl is HW positive! But she will get all the treatment, care and love as we care for her during the full heartworm treatment. Bitsy is approximately 4 years old, a peanut at only 26 lbs and being fostered currently in Georgia. We’ve been told she is a big love bug. More on Bitsy from her foster mom: She is a sweet shy little girl, with things to learn and places to see. Bitsy was an outside kennel dog all four years of her life, but she is starting to love the comfort of a soft bed, central heat and air, and the love that a human will give. She is doing well with leash walking and the potty training. Bitsy is skittish around new people and loud noises, and will run to her safe place if she is uncertain, the safe place being her crate. Before coming into OLBD she had little contact with people and was scared to be approached but was fine when you allow her to approach you. It takes a few days for her to warm up to her humans. She now gets excited and comes up to me wanting more love and attention. Bitsy loves being outside playing with other fur babies and exploring with her nose to the ground. Also, she is not the average little brown dog, calm and not destructive, that may change over time.
Bitsy needs a home with a small family and with one, two or more fur babies. A fenced back yard with room to explore and play. Most of all a family that will give her the love and attention she deserves.
Because she is HW positive, she will only be placed in a foster-to-adopt home so she can bond with her people during the longer treatment process. We will need a foster home that can give her all the care and love she needs to see her through treatment to adoption. You can reach out to Cindi Love at [email protected] for full details on what it means to be a foster-to-adopt home. Operation LBD will pay for full treatment costs.

Operation LBD Thelma
Heartworm + and has FOUND her Foster-to-Adopt Home!!

UPDATE: Miss Thelma has found her foster-to-adopt family! Yay! Thank you for your interest!
Meet OLBD Thelma, one of our newest intakes. Thelma is approximately 6.5 years old, a purebred, female Boykin Spaniel and is unfortunately heartworm positive. But don’t let that scare you. Because of the heartworms, Thelma will need a family looking to foster-to-adopt and to bond with her and see her through complete heartworm treatment. Thelma is very affectionate and loves snuggling – she really doesn’t understand personal space, lol. She is a little skittish at first meeting but warms up quickly. and she doesn’t like loud noises. She rides great in the car, loves exploring the fenced backyard and is easily corrected although she’s not great on a leash but can certainly learn through training. She’s house trained and learned to use the foster family’s doggie door to go out within minutes. She likes to sit on chairs and sleep in beds with comfy bedding. She would be best in a home with a male dog as she’s submissive with her foster family’s male. Like some females, she wants to rule the roost, lol, and would be best as the only female without a “Louise” in the home.
As with all our dogs, you will need to complete an adoption application and be fully and completely interviewed, processed and approved prior to any of our dogs coming into your home. You can complete an application here on our website at www.operationlbd.com. You must be an approved adopter to be considered for any of our dogs and you must meet the needs of the particular dog you are interested in. If you are already an approved adopter and are interested in fostering-to-adopt sweet Thelma you can email [email protected] and express your interest. With heartworm treatment, OLBD does cover the cost of the treatment. You can email [email protected] to get more details. Please always remember, it is our job to find OLBD Thelma and all our rescues, the right fit home, always!!! We will never waiver from putting the dog’s needs first! Thank you for your understanding!
